My work as B. Erin Wylde has been very therapeutic. I am a mother who struggles with many concepts as do we all, but to tell you of myself, I must concentrate on my other side...my fiction side. Many of you, who have read my novel by my alter ego, E. A. Mourn, titled... Deadly Intuition, have asked if I had a traumatic childhood. I think that is the most frequently asked question of fiction writers. The answer is an emphatic NO. The ability to write this type of fiction is something that is hard wired...a talent you are born with. Many will disagree with me on that, but that’s okay. And no...I have not had, nor do I believe in creative writing classes. I have a B.S. in Chemistry, a degree in Medical Technology, and another degree in Business. In addition, I have completed a decent amount of coursework in Physics and Chemical Engineering. I have worked as a scientist for many years now, but since I am one of those bizarre individuals who are half creative and half analytical...I must do both to satisfy the desires of my mind and spirit. I was born and raised in the south and had little exposure to the rest of the world during my younger years. I longed to move away most of my life, and did just that after college. I live in Florida now, and oddly enough, have settled down in one of the smaller towns here. I can't imagine a better place to live and write, and would never want to leave this part of the world that is such a paradise. I enjoy the works of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and John Sanford, to name a few. My writing is most often dark; but there is not much I can do about that, even if I wanted to. I am convinced this stuff comes to me through bizarre transmissions that are out of my control. Especially the poetry...which always comes from out of nowhere when I least expect it! In addition to writing, I adore exploring the Gulf of Mexico, Diving and anything else that is water related. If you have read this far...THANK YOU, and please read more. Sincerely, B. Erin |
